“I only want you for the summer.
Look your best, wear sexy clothes because I am planning to parade you on the beach so everyone could see how good you look. After the summer we are done, you can go back to your life as it was”
Imagine someone would say that to you …
Disrespectful, right? And inappropriate (counting on being a married woman with kids…
)
A person speaking to you like that does not deserve a second thought. Of course, it’s out of the question.
Well, that’s strikingly similar to the concepts that are so very popular, like “body beach ready” or “get your body ready for the summer”.
Don’t get me wrong, feeling sexy is great, personally, I LOVE that.
But what happens after the summer? And after the next summer? And the next?
A smart woman knows that trying to get something like a ripped body in a few weeks means basically punishing your body…which stands against the idea itself of being proud of it…not to mention that the results won’t be up to the expectations.
Going on a fitness journey just to fit into a bathing suit for the summer is detrimental to you…and the tendency is to stop working on yourself as soon as the weather goes bad.
Your body deserves love and care throughout the year, not just “in time for summer”
Building a relationship with your body might take longer than a few weeks and a healthy relationship goes beyond a set timeline.
You deserve a functional body that outruns the summer period, one that feels good when you put on a vaporous dress and one that can run in the park with your kid for more than 10 min.
A body with a strong core, less low back pain, one that gives you the confidence to wear whatever you want in any given season.
A body that will not drop dead tired after climbing a few stairs or carrying the kid’s stroller.
A body that you love will get your attention in winter too.
Starting in spring is OK
Starting in summer is OK
Starting in winter is OK
Starting on a Wednesday afternoon is OK
My point is, regardless of when you start investing in our health, in your body, in YOURSELF make sure to make it long-lasting
Get your body ready for life rather than just for the summer
